last one in the list and set the baud rate to “USB”.
- The USB port
drivers are not loaded yet. Wait about 5 seconds after plugging
the VC3000 in and turning it on before attempting to import.

unplug the VSI from the RS232 port.

synchronization software such as "Hot Sync" is running and
controlling the serial port. Close the PDA software and try
again.
- Wrong cable or
not connected properly.

Q. When importing it gives error message “Wrong response reading file

cable is connected to the VC3000, either USB or RS232.
Q. When
importing it gives error message
"ie_Open - device already open".
A. The Com Port is locked or in use by
another device. Disable the other device or try another Com Port.
Or Profile Express or another program opened the Com Port but didn't
close it. Exit Profile Express and restart it. This should reset the
Port. You may have to restart your computer in some cases.
Q. When
importing it gives error message "ie_Hardware - hardware not present".
A. The Com Port is
locked or in use by another device. Disable the other device or try
another Com Port. Or the Com Port doesn't exist in the
computer. Select a different Com Port. Or the driver software
for the port is not present. Reinstall the port software. Or
the resources (address space and interrupt) in BIOS must match that
of windows. To check BIOS settings enter SETUP when the computer
first boots up.
Q. Some G values are not realistic after importing.
A. There was a communication problem
between the VC3000 and Profile. Make sure the FIFO
buffers for the COM port are on using the Device Manager in Windows.
Resetting the COM port to Defaults is the easiest way.
Q. When importing it has an Access Violation error message, or when
opening Options it displays "File not Found" error message.
A. The registry has corrupt information for the Profile program.
Open the registry editor (Start, Run..., type regedit and hit OK).
Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Vericom\Profile. Delete
the whole key. Close the registry editor. NOTE: backup
registry first. Vericom is not responsible if you mess up the
registry! Run the Profile program again. It will create
a new key with default values.
Q. I had a sensor set to zero adjust by mistake. How can I
correct this after the test is completed?
A. Go into the sensor settings for the run and make the minimum range
the opposite sign of the maximum range. For example, in the
case of a 300lb load cell, set the minimum range to -300 and maximum
range to 300. The resolution of the sensor results will now be
half of what it would have been.
Q. The Preset Sensors list does not show my sensor.
A. To get the latest sensors added by Vericom, you must delete the
Profile.INI file from the Windows folder using Windows Explorer,
then run the Profile program again. This will reset all
options to factory defaults. Profile 3.3.0 and newer the use
registry instead of the .INI file.
